The Meadows Nursery

The main activity within the centre is The Meadows Nursery which is open from 9:00am to 3:00pm Monday to Friday with parents being offered a flexible range of options within that time frame.

We offer 2½ hour sessions, 3 hour sessions, 3½ hour sessions, or all day 6 hour sessions for children aged 2 years up to primary school age.

The full nursery day comprises of two, 2½ hour core sessions with a one hour lunch club:

Morning Session                      9:00am  ~  11:30am
Lunch Club                               11:30am  ~ 12:30pm
Afternoon Session                   12:30pm ~   3:00pm

Young children thrive in a stable, predictable environment. So, while we strive to remain flexible to each child’s varying needs each day, our days will follow a consistent structure. The daily core sessions comprise of the following activities:

• Free play.
• Register time.
• Structured adult led activity.
• Snack time.
• Outside play.

The Meadows is able to offer children free nursery education under the 2+ Childcare Funding Scheme (to children of eligible families) and the three and four year old flexible entitlement funding in Cambridgeshire. This entitles eligible 2 year old children, and children over the age of three to receive up to 15 hours of free flexible early learning childcare a week. We are also able to offer qualifying children the extended 30 hours funding.
